ABOUT DR. CAMPBELL

Dr. Campbell’s journey into orthopedics began with a sports injury as a teenager, sparking an early interest in the mechanics of the human body. With a background in civil engineering, Dr. Campbell applies principles of structure and stability to orthopedic surgery, focusing on improving patients’ mobility and function.

As director of the Center for Women’s Sports Medicine at NYU Langone, Dr. Campbell specializes in arthroscopic and open surgeries for knee and shoulder injuries, including ACL, meniscus, and cartilage pathology, as well as rotator cuff and labral tears. She also manages nonsurgical sports injuries and guides rehabilitation for conditions that do not require surgical intervention.

A former college athlete herself, Dr. Campbell brings empathy and firsthand experience to her practice, prioritizing patient-centered care and collaborative treatment plans. Her research focuses on meniscal and cartilage healing, patellofemoral instability, and advancing the understanding of tendon disease and regeneration.
